Escape To The Rugged And Wild Cederberg Mountains

Images: Views from the Cederberg

Two hours north of Cape Town along the west coast lie the rugged, wild and spectacular Cederberg mountains. Named for the endangered, indigenous Cedar tree, these mountains are home to the Cape Leopard, various antelope species, diverse bird life, and dozens of small mammal species. Not to mention the diverse botanical life. With the distinct orange sandstone rock, alien-like formations and out-of-this-world scenery, spending a few days hiking in the Cederberg should be on every hiker’s list.

We run 3-5 day hiking trips, with either wild camping each night or staying in a base going on day excursions. And if you need a rest from the hiking, there’s wine tasting, beer tasting, rock art sites and an observatory to keep you busy.
